Re-filmed Scene
I re-filmed the scene at the beginning of the music video, as I learnt from my audience feedback, the picture was too grainy and dark which distracted the viewer from the initial storyline. As a result, instead of filming the scene in a dark room, I filmed it in a well-lit room and created the illusion that it was dark by adding effects and altering the colours.
I decreased the exposure to 89%, decreased the brightness to -21%, increased the contrast to 8%, and finally decreased the saturation to 30%. I applied these same setting for each of the clips in this scene. By making these changes, it gives my music video a more professional and cleaner look, keeping the audiences attention on the storyline.

Edited photographs for digipak
After adding effects to these photos, I then edited them more in Photoshop by adding text (lyrics from some of the songs featured in the album). I decided to add these lyrics as this is a common characteristic in a digipak and also thought that it made the images look less empty and more interesting.
I also used the same text which is seen on the front and back of the digipak so that I could tie all of the images together.

DIGIPAK PHOTOS - ADDED EFFECTS
I added effects which had the same type of style as the back cover of my digipak. This is so that all of the photos tied together nicely and I will also be adding effects to the front cover soon.
I chose these photos as the title of my album means 'ever lasting' and my music video also represents death, hence why i took photographs of a grave-yard.
I also think these photographs represent the grunge/metal genre as they are quite sinister and dark.
I also wanted the album to look slightly worn out and scratched and so, I added texture to my photos. Again, this represents the genre as metal/grunge is quite hardcore and rough.

Adding Effects To My Digipak Photo
I used the iPad and a program called 'snapseed' to try out a range of effects; increasing the brightness, adding texture, adding colour, etc. I did this to see if I wanted to use one of these photos in my digipak to make it look more eye-catching, unique and interesting.

FIRST DIGIPAK PHOTOSHOOT
As I was re-filming some of my footage, I took the opportunity to take some photographs for my digipak. I plan on taking some more, perhaps going with the idea of the hands pushing through a screen. However, this photoshoot wasn't as prepared as I wanted to so some of the images seem quite simple. I hope to arrange an actual photoshoot, involving my sister.
I first used the lighting from the LED light, but then ended up just using the flash as the LED lights made the picture look too bright, which is not what I was going for. I wanted the photograph to have a dark background and fairly low-key lighting as this would represent the rock/punk genre and will appeal to this type of audience. I mainly took close-ups and shoulder-length shots as I thought that this would emphasise the fact that this is his story. I asked him not to look directly at the camera so that it gave the photograph a mysterious-looking effect. It also looks as if he is deep in thought, representing the genre as it is dark and sinister.
I am yet to decide if I will use these photographs in my digipak as I plan on arranging a more professional and prepared photoshoot. However, if I was to use these photographs, I think that they would best fit as a back cover. The photographs down below would be the most suitable for the back cover as they have such a large black space and this is where I could write down the song titles.

FILMING AND EDITING PROGRESS
I have successfully filmed my footage and have uploaded it into iMovie where I will be editing and creating the final product of my music video. I have collected a wide range of camera angles such as mid-length shots, side shots, close-ups/extreme close-ups, panning, over the shoulder, etc.
I used LED lights so that I was still able to film in dark lighting and so that the audience is still able to see what is happening in the music video, despite the fact that this was filmed at night.
I am happy with my music video so far, however, some changes need to be made.
As the camera that I had borrowed from school died because of low battery, I used my own camera from home. It is a HD Canon, and despite its clean and clear picture when it is light, it creates an unprofessional 'static-like' effect in the dark, which completely destroys the whole picture. As this happens at the very start of my music video, I have decided to completely re-film this scene, using the appropriate camera, as first impressions are very important.
Also (taking full advantage of the fact that I have a more professional camera to work with), I will be doing some extra filming as I have 4 minutes of footage while the song is 6 minutes long. I hope to film scenes which explain the story a lot more as I feel like my music video is yet to do that. I will also take pictures of my actors which can be used in my digipak or album poster.

Storyboard
Creating a storyboard allowed me to really think about how I want my music video to look. I thought about the appropriate camera angles to use, lighting, clothing, and editing. The storyboard was also very helpful when it came to filming the music video. I was able to think about what to film next instead of spontaneously filming random scenes that may not make any sense.

Draft: Digipak Idea 2
This is my second digipak idea. Compared to my first design, this one will not be drawn or painted. My idea is to get either one of my actors or my sister to lie down in this position under a thin bed sheet. I will then take photographs, looking down on them and add colour effects, making it either black or white or slightly faded in colour.
Like the other design, I wanted to keep the title the same; with simple old english writing, spaced out equally across the digipak. Again, this makes the album look simple yet interesting and I like the design of it as I personally think it looks quite professional.
Draft: Digipak Idea 1
This is my first digipak idea. I was inspired by the title of the album 'Sempiternal', meaning; 'Ever lasting'. The skull signifies death, hence signifying the idea of something being ever lasting. Also, I got the inspiration from the ink block style from the song I have chosen; 'Hospitals Four Souls'. From this title, I can't help but imagine a mental institution and so, the ink blocks (which are commonly using is psychology) represent this.
I like this idea because it's simple yet eye-catching and I think the dark style of it, with the skull and the black paint, represents my music genre.
